Well, my first really good horse, Kool Thing, is no longer part of the eddie stables.
In his 40th race, the old boy was claimed for $35k. He was a great stayer that I had no intention of breeding over, so I'm not sad about that...but I'll miss him.
He always ran from the front, so I got many experiences of watching other horses slowly gain on him, as I sweated out the finish! He won two straight G1's in '07 to become my first G1 winner. He's just $18k short of $1mil. earned, but he won't reach it with me I guess...
oh yeah, and he was one of the first horses I bred for my ATC stable that I opened when this resi was started! Good on ya, KT! and Go ATC!!

yeah its always a bit tough to lose or breed a horse you've had for years isn't it? Congrats on a great career with Kool Thing and may he have many more races in front of him!

Kool Thing was practically a fixture. Best of luck to him and his new trainer!

Kool Thing certainly brought both you and the ATC a lot of great races, especially with those back to back G1's. Sad to see him go.

If I can remember to, I'll probably try to claim him back if I can.
